1. What is the correct uniform?

If you choose not to purchase the uniform keep in mind that students need to wear tight fitting lycra clothes that allow for movement. Items are either available from Dance Junction (81 Bathurst Street, Hobart, 62345070) or can be ordered from the school. The Parent Support Group has made a Second hand shoes service available at the school. Hair should be pulled back neatly into a bun or ponytail for all classes.

2. How much does it cost for my daughter/son to dance with Encore?

Class costs do vary according to the length of the class. Classes are generously discounted for students attending multiple classes per week as well as family discounts.

3.Is it all competition work?

No, a balance is achieved with students encouraged to participate in National accredited examinations and competitions but it is not compulsory.

4. Are Parents allowed to watch their daughters/sons?

All classes conducted at our main studio may be viewed from the waiting area through a TV monitor. This has the advantage of parents being able to view their children and allows the students to learn without distractions.

5. Do parents have to stay and wait while the lesson is on?

Our main studio has tea & coffee making facilities available for parents and they are welcome to wait in this area. They may choose to leave the premises but we do ask that they return on time to collect their child/ren.

6. Are you allowed to video concerts?

Our Parent Support Group organizes our main annual concert to be professionally taped and therefore private videoing is not permitted. We are happy for parents to video other performances as long as they do not restrict the viewing of other parents.

7. How does the billing for classes work?

• Term accounts are issued at the beginning of each 10-week term block (four per year)
• Monthly accounts may be organised through the office
• For those who internet bank, monthly or fortnightly payments may be set up
